Note from the Nurse

Dear Parents/Guardians!

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! We are looking forward to a safe and healthy school year. We would like to outline a few guidelines regarding the Health Office here at Safford Middle School and Safford High School.
Your student may present to the health office in the case of illness or accident, where the primary emergency contact will be notified if needed. It will be the responsibility of the parent or guardian to seek medical attention as necessary, unless in the case of an emergency where Emergency Medical Services via ambulance must be called. Please remind your students of the importance of their education and staying in class as much as possible. For the protection of all students the following rules have been set and the child may be sent home if the student exhibits the following symptoms:

  • Fever of 100.4 or greater

  • Suspected of contagious disease

  • Vomiting or diarrhea (two or more times)

  • Yellow or green discharge from nose or eyes

  • Persistent cough greater than 4 days

  • Unusual spots or rash

  • Behavior indicating the student is not feeling well with a combination of symptoms listed above.

Your children are important to us. We look forward to getting to know them and you this school year! Please feel free to stop by the Health Office with any questions or concerns.
